Who Are We?

We are a recording label and artist development company for Christian music based in the Pacific Northwest.  Although our focus has been regional, we also have begun to launch national talent as well.  In 2008, we are splitting into two imprint labels: "Rain On Me Records" for Gospel, Rap, and R&B, and "Save the City Records" for Worship and Rock genres.  We are heavily involved with Christmas in the Northwest, a regional fundraiser for Children's Hospitals throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.  Christmas in the Northwest has featured artists such as Heart, Stacie Orrico, Kenny G., Kevin Thornton (Color Me Badd) and it also produces an annual Emmy-award winning TV show.

In addition to our record label and artist development functions, we also provide "ala carte" services for hire to churches, musicians, and businesses:

  • We provide music production and recording studio services.  We run two recording facilities: one in downtown Tacoma, Washington near the Chihuly Glass Museum, and one in Sammamish, an Eastside suburb of Seattle.  We produce projects by the hour, by the song, and by the entire album.
  • We provide churches and Christian organizations with a trusted source of music for events, services, retreats, and conferences. See our artists page for our varied roster of talented artists.
  • We provide music and technology consulting including consultation on audio technology, studio facility design, and design of user interfaces for audio workstation software and software based plug-ins.
Our network of musicians in the Northwest area is vast, with access to some of the best talent available throughout the Northwest for producing, arranging, string sections, horn sections, session players, "beat brokering", and engineering.  Our clients have included Grammy nominated, Emmy winning, and Dove award winning artists.

Our Artists

We find our artists through a trusted network of churches, musicians, and pastors.  Although we do take unsolicted demos, your best shot at getting our help is through getting to know us.  Add us to your friends on myspace, record a demo song or two with us, and let us know where you're playing.

Behind The Scenes

Derek Hoiem - music production and management.  Derek is a recording engineer, music producer, software designer, and a "people builder."  Derek has played drums and run live sound in churches around the Northwest for the last 15 years.  Derek says, "My passion is for musicians to use their talents to strengthen churches and to bring messages of hope to our generation."

Brandon Bee - producer.  Brandon is recognized around the Pacific Northwest for his savant-like ability to create hook-laden tracks, play any instrument just by looking at it, and being an all-around great guy to hang with.  Brandon has produced numerous indie albums in Seattle and is a "secret weapon" (maybe not anymore!)

Steve Smith - recording and mix engineer.  Steve is a multi-Grammy winning engineer and a well-known Seattle talent.  He worked extensively for Heart, Donna Summer, and got his start at the Record Plant in Los Angeles working for Stevie Wonder.  Steve is one of the first-calls in Seattle for large recording sessions.

Roy Herzer - producer and arranger.  Roy has arranged and conducted sections for Crystal Lewis, Stephen Newby, Word Music, Maranatha! Music, Centricity Records, and us!  He is also heard producing and playing horns for ABC radio news themes, American Top 40, and radio station imaging for dozens of stations worldwide.

Sam Mathews - music production assistant.  Sam is well-known in the Seattle and Nashville areas for his extraordinary drumming talent.  Sam is also a multi-instrumentalist, having produced tracks for radio jingles and contributes to the funky sound of "NehoSoul" that backs Bryan Duncan.  Sam has played drums for many well-known Christian groups and artists including the PromiseKeepers band, Rachel Lampa, Martha Munuzzi, and others.

Matt Terjeson - music production assistant.

Our accounting is audited through Chaffee, Geddes, Chucka (Bellevue, Washington), and our legal issues are handled by K&L Gates Ellis (Seattle, WA).
